Lysine for Herpes Virus Management

Quantum Orthomolecular Medicine recommends L-lysine for the management of herpes attacks and infections. There are at least nine to twelve types of herpes virus and some are very aggressive and can cause cancer or tumors. The management of the herpes virus is quite serious. It can cross the blood brain barrier and attack the brain or the optic nerve. It can result in impaired vision and damaged nerve fibers in the brain. It can attack the myelin sheath and impair nerve impulses. L-Lysine can be taken as a preventative supplement or to heal an herpes outbreak.

Herpes is recognized by blisters on the surface of the body, and the concept of herpes attacking nerves in the brain is not often discussed. There are no visual signs of a herpes infection after it crosses the blood brain barrier. This may be very difficult to diagnose. Blood testing herpes viral loads may help provide answers if the tests present high herpes presence. It would help to use any supplements which can reduce viral replication.

Diabetes and Herpes Outbreaks

Quantum Orthomolecular Medicine associates diabetes with many secondary health issues, including secondary viral infections. Rebecca Stone MD India believes that most viruses become more difficult to treat during periods of elevated blood sugar. The high glucose problems caused by diabetes result in  increased inflammation and free radical levels throughout the body. The associated inflammation from diabetes can increase the rate of viral replication and result in higher Herpes viral loads. The alpha lipoic acid can serve in some people to actually lower glucose elevation and prevent diabetic retinopathy and L-Lysine can reduce the herpes virus in many people.
